IMMEDIATE RELEASE Manheim Township Library Project Lands State MoneyPlans for a new Manheim Township Public Library building received a boost with a state commitment of $500,000, according to Senator Gib Armstrong. "Even in this age of technological advances and instant communication, a modern library continues to be an indispensable community resource. So it is encouraging to see substantial progress on the move toward a new library. The facility will keep up with the needs and demands of families, workers, students, and businesses, those who depend on information for their livelihoods, those who seek to expand their knowledge, and those who enjoy reading and researching," Armstrong said. "This is a good and necessary project, and it appears that state officials were impressed by the plan. The cooperation between township and library officials in developing this project is a key selling point," he noted. The state grant money comes from the Keystone Recreation, Park, and Conservation Fund, with the library component being administered by the state Department of Education. |
